This Privacy Policy describes how Smart Storage collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use our Service at smartstorage.me.

You provide: name, email address, password, billing information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers), and inventory content you enter.

Automatically collected: IP address, browser type, device information, usage data, and cookies.

From third parties: Stripe (payment and billing), analytics providers.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account; to provide and improve the Service; to process payments; to send administrative and security notices; to respond to support requests; to detect and prevent fraud; and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Consent

We obtain your consent for collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting hello@smartstorage.me, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.

4. Disclosure of Personal Information

We share information with trusted service providers (hosting, Stripe, analytics) who are contractually required to protect your data. We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

5. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. Users aged 13–18 require parental or guardian consent. Contact hello@smartstorage.me if you believe a child has provided information without consent.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information only as long as necessary. When you cancel your subscription, all your inventory data and photos are permanently deleted from our servers. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting hello@smartstorage.me.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for core functionality and analytics cookies to understand usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and administrative safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and access controls. No system is completely secure. We will notify you of security breaches as required by law.

9. Cross-Border Transfers

Your information may be processed outside of British Columbia and Canada, including in the United States. We take steps to ensure appropriate protection consistent with PIPA and PIPEDA.

10. Your Rights Under PIPA (British Columbia)

You have the right to access and correct your personal information, withdraw consent, and file a complaint with the OIPC BC at www.oipc.bc.ca. Contact our Privacy Officer at hello@smartstorage.me to exercise these rights. We will respond within 30 business days.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service at least 14 days before they take effect.
